For a trailer with a gross weight of 3,000 lbs or less, it is required to have specific safety equipment to enhance visibility and ensure safety while on the road. The correct answer states that the trailer must be equipped with 2 red reflectors on the rear as well as left and right electric turn signals.

The presence of the red reflectors serves the purpose of increasing the visibility of the trailer, especially during low-light conditions or at night. Red reflectors are standardized for trailers to help other drivers see them from a distance, reducing the risk of accidents. The requirement for electric turn signals is equally important, as these signals communicate the trailer's intentions when turning or changing lanes, thus allowing for safer maneuvering in traffic.

Each of the other options includes items that don't align with the legal requirements or do not provide the appropriate safety indicators necessary for a trailer of that weight category. This makes option A the most compliant and sensible choice for ensuring that the trailer is safe and visible to other road users.
